To be eligible for the Enterprise Training Programme, you must be an owner, operator or manager of a New Zealand small to medium sized enterprise (SME). For the purpose of the Enterprise Training Programme, SMEs are defined as having the following characteristics:
- Are personally owned
- Are commercially trading
- Have less than 50 full-time staff
- Have few, if any specialised managerial staff
- Are not part of a larger business enterprise
- The services under the Enterprise Training Programme is funded by the government via New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. The only investment required by you is your time, effort and commitment.

1. Go to
https://www.businessassessment.co.nz/ to complete the Core Capability Questionnaire in order to establish a starting point to measure growth. This is to help you assess your business' current capabilities as well as assist in identifying opportunities to improve your business performance.
2. When asked
on the above questionnaire, please add your BDC assessor (Julie Varney or Erena Rowe) by recording their email address -
admin@bdc.net.nz
4. The BDC form will be submitted automatically and then your assessor will make a time to meet with you to identify your training needs, followed up with an opportunity plan for your business.
5. After meeting with your assessor you will be part of the Enterprise Training Programme and be able to book, online, relevant ETP workshops.
